About
I am Dr. Eng. Ir. Delli Noviarti Rachman, S.T., M.T, a civil engineering academic whose career has been shaped by a commitment to both education and practical development. I was born in Palembang, 1981, and my academic journey has consistently centered on civil engineering, with a particular specialization in construction management. This field has allowed me to explore not only the technical aspects of infrastructure but also the managerial and economic considerations that influence successful project implementation.
Since 2014, I have been serving as a lecturer in the Civil Engineering Program at Universitas Tamansiswa Palembang. In this role, I teach a range of subjects, including construction management, transportation systems, engineering economics, feasibility studies, and decision-making techniques. Through these courses, I aim to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of engineering that integrates theory with real-world application.
Prior to my academic career, I gained valuable professional experience in the engineering sector. I worked as a civil engineering staff member and estimator in private companies, where I developed a strong foundation in project planning and cost analysis. I was also involved in national community-based programs such as PNPM Mandiri Perdesaan and PAMSIMAS, where I contributed as a technical facilitator. These experiences allowed me to engage directly with communities, particularly in rural areas, and strengthened my perspective on the social impact of engineering.
My research interests focus on infrastructure development, transportation systems, water supply, and environmental challenges such as flood risk and climate change adaptation. Much of my work is grounded in the context of Palembang and the surrounding regions, as I believe that research should contribute meaningfully to local development. Over the years, I have published numerous studies addressing issues such as road damage analysis, infrastructure mapping, and engineering materials, reflecting my ongoing commitment to applied research.
In addition to journal publications, I have contributed to several books and book chapters on topics such as project management, engineering economics, and decision-making methods, including the Analytical Hierarchy Process. Through these works, I aim to provide both students and practitioners with practical guidance in navigating complex engineering problems.
Overall, my career represents a continuous effort to bridge academic knowledge with practical application, with the goal of supporting sustainable infrastructure development and improving the quality of life in the communities I serve.
